In 2013, the Dorabji Tata Trust and the Tata Education and Development Trust gave $50 million (Rs 220 crore) to Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. This money came from the Tata Group. In the School’s 102-year history, the Group became the biggest donor ever.
But Tata Trusts was accused of giving more money to Harvard than to less well-off Indian universities. It was said that trusts were breaking tax laws in a very clear way. It has said that the accusations and any misuse of exemptions are not true.
The argument was supported by the fact that HBS has taught more than 400 MBAs and more than 2200 executives and senior government leaders from India.
TATA NANO: Discontinuation
